Marcia was born and raised in Fraser, Michigan, and has been a lifelong Metro Detroiter. She currently resides in Sterling Heights and works as the Training Manager at a Rochester Hills-based valet company, and she also has a 2nd job as a truck driver for a small, Shelby Township-based recycling company. She got her start at the age of 9, delivering the weekly paper for C & G News, and then later, the daily paper for The Detroit News. While attending high school, she got a job at a local Little Caesars and became assistant manager at age 16. She's also worked at other local restaurants over the years: Pizza Hut, Big Boy's, Chi Chi's & Chili's as a waitress, and at several Detroit gentlemen's clubs as a DJ & entertainer. She may have even delivered a package to you while working for FedEx in Metro Detroit for 12 years. After that, she worked as the Equipment Manager and a Teacher/Instructor for a mobile exercise company for kids, and also taught fitness classes at several local gyms.
Marcia graduated high school in the Top 10 of her class in 1993, and earned herself a full academic scholarship as well as a partial athletic scholarship to attend Wayne State University. She was on the Dean's List every semester at Wayne State, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Psychology, in 1997. Life got in the way after that, indefinitely delaying her post-graduate education. She became a Mom to 4 amazing kids, which took up most of her free time. 2 of those kids are young adults now, and the other 2 are starting 8th & 9th Grades in the Fall. All are supportive of their mom's political aspirations.
